My Story

The story of our lives. It all began for me about 2 years ago and has been going ever since. In 2012, while at my annual physical appointment my doctor said those dreaded word.

“You may want to start watching your weight. According to our records you are in the overweight category.”

I have never been overweight or close to being overweight in my life. My normal weight range was 130-140s in college, and now just a year after graduation I was up to 170lbs. Well, after one year of working out last year I hit close to my goal weight of 154 lbs. If you are reading this, please do not do what I did. I was comfortable and happy with my new goal weight and thought I had it under control. I stopped working out as often and stopped tracking my meals (MyFitnesspal). Before I knew it, about 6 months later, I was back at 170lbs. Well, here I am again trying to get back on the wagon. I want to use this section of the blog to document my journey and answer any questions anyone may have along the way.

Although I am practicing to be a Registered Dietitian and know how to eat properly, I too am human and make mistakes. I am getting back into my routine and anyone is welcome to join me. Comment below if you would like to join… The more the merrier.

    Hi Soror,
Followed your link from the Gamma Tau FB page. Am enjoying reading your blog today and have signed up to receive future posts.

I, too, need to loose weight. I do have a trainer, but that’s all I do, and I now know that I have to do my part between the twice weekly sessions. Perhaps following you will encourage me to get up and out and get the cardio done!

Keep up your good works. And best wishes for continued success.

    Hey Lady,

I understand your struggle. Early 2013 I was running 3 times a week, doing a dance class on Saturdays and eating well balanced meals. I did a diet bet and lost 9 lbs in a month. Then life happened and my running went to the back burner. Once you stop it is so hard to start back. I am back where I started sadly but I have picked up a dance fitness class and started meal prepping (only one week so far). I am hoping to really make the lifestyle change for good. My excuse was always time; but you make time for what you want to make time for.

A fun thing I’m doing to make up for that time issue is during the commercials of tv shows like How to Get Away with Murder I’ll do squats, bicep curls, lunges, planks, or hold yoga positions. The short boost is fun and makes watching TV beneficial 🙂

I’m walking with you on this Journey. This will be fun. Please keep posting.

    Your Friend,
